Oh Charity, I just lost my mom - who lived with us - 18 months ago and I am feeling your loss so keenly. A mixture of grief at the parting, and relief that she is no longer suffering. I wish I could sit with you right now and hear stories about your mom. Much love to you, gifted friend and loving daughter that you are.

While we can't necessarily be together to share our stories of our moms, I think it's important to remember them and tell them to those around us. I hope my grief never keeps me from talking about Mom and her generous, beautiful life.

Charity, thank you for sharing. A little snippet of your journey with your Mom and this very difficult part of saying that final goodbye. I will be thinking of you over these next weeks as you take time away and praying for rest and restoration for you and God’s very real presence as you grieve. What an amazing gift you gave your mom in caring so well for her ❤️

Thank you, Sue. My theme for the rest of August is healing and rest.

I was caregiver for my mother-in-law and then my mother. Very hard, both the caring and the releasing. Praying for you.

You've said it well, Bev. Both the caring and the releasing are so painful ... it seems like one would be harder than the other.
