This theme of rest is such a beautifully rich one and so relevant to our lives right now. Thank you for reflecting on it and pointing us to authors and artists that invite us to receive this truth into our hearts at an ever deepening level. I am currently working on a book related to a right relationship with time as believers and this phrase of "enter into My rest" has been one of the keystones of the book.

Thanks for your comment, Aliel. There’s such comfort in that phrase, “enter into My rest.” I can even feel it in my body … it feels like relief. We aren’t often offered that kind of rest in our culture, even on a human scale. Your book sounds wonderful.

Love this, Charity. Firstly, the idea of sitting down to do a resume fills me with dread after being freelance and so much, like you, is a blur of different roles, different positions over the decades ... I love how you bring this back to recognising to whom we belong, and have nothing to prove. Also, with Mary and Martha, I love how Jesus says Martha’s name twice, “Martha Martha… “ in a way that just sounds so loving, so familiar - like a brother or friend who knows us well and loves us would talk. Total, loving acceptance. And that painting is beautiful! What a dream for summer days, as well!
