YES!!! Count me in for the book club! I adore Kate! Also, I love this issue—and that we share the same library! I would love to meet you in real life some time. Coincidentally, I’ve been intending to write you—sending you a separate email about a project I’m working on. Thank you for your beautiful words in my mailbox today!

Kate gives so much of herself to her readers and the literary community. I'm excited to take this deep dive.

YES, yes, yes to the book club. What a fabulous idea. I'm going to start looking for her books at the used book store we frequent.

Kate. I’d love to join. I read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane to my students every year. I have a copy of it signed by her. 🥰

I think there's something really enriching about reading a book again and again. Besides the one-off books I read all the time, there are two other strategies for reading books that have greatly enhanced my reading life: rereading, as you've mentioned, and reading through an author's entire body of work, as we're doing with Kate. I'm sure there are other strategies, too, but you are giving yourself a gift with the annual reading of Edward Tulane, in addition to the gift you're giving your students!

Possibly! Although I may not be able to commit to read all of them, I could try for some!

I'm hoping to have two tracks ... a plan to read them all, and then a plan to read just a few. Hopefully that will work.

Kate DiCamillo is one of my all time favorite writers, so I am totally in on a Kate summer reading club. I’m jealous reading about the HMM Library that will be in your front yard! My son went to a tutor in Zionsville when he was in 2nd grade (he’s now 22 and about to graduate from The University of Arizona.) My daughter and I would always spend that time at the Zionsville library. It was always a nice place to be.

I'm glad you'll join us, Marianna! And I'm just discovering what a nice place the HMM library is. I've worked there a couple of times recently and go a couple of times a week for books. It is lovely.
