Two things: my flannel robe, which is perfect year round, plus my Kindle, which usually has multiple choices of reading material and is more compact than the heavy tote of books I used to carry on trips. This year the only trips I took were back and forth to my parents, but my younger brother got me thinking about expanding my horizons after he booked a trip *on his motorcyle* up the eastern seaboard. I’d love to beg him not to do it, but then again, I love his spirit of adventure, and I’m glad he is redeeming his health to scratch some things off his bucket list. I just hope God watches over every inch of his path on that motorcycle.—Crystal
I'm a bit of an Italian mama with a bottomless bag of every medicine known to man - which everyone laughs about, until they need something from mum's "pharmacy"! Also? Bible, a precious Rosary, spiritual book of some sort that I'm reading (even on Kindle) for middle of the night wakings - oh, and a clock! Travel clock that ticks, the "comfort tick"!
I like to take items that ground me since being in an unfamiliar place often creates some anxiety. So I take my hand cross, my Bible, my paints, paper, something I am quilting to do in the air, and a pencil and paper to write ideas or thoughts. I am not the best traveler even though I know getting away is refreshing.
It depends on where I'm going. Like Phil, it might be my pillow if I'm staying in someone's home, but if we are staying in a hotel, I take essential oils.

My pillow.
